Sunday Service: Pastor Danette Ray “The Purpose of the Holy Spirit Series: Sealed”

Scriptures: Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 4:30; John 6:27; Esther 8:8; Galatians 3:14; 2 Corinthians 5:5 NKJV

The people of God fail because we are functioning in the flesh and not the spirit. 

Every truth has proof, and if there is no evidence that you belong to Christ, then you are lying. 

God is using these messages to reverse our neglect of the Holy Spirit. 

Background: This letter is giving to the church of Ephesus. The same church that John wrote to in the book of revelation. Paul is saying that if you belong to the Lord, you have been sealed with Holy Spirit 

You will not know peace until you know the grace of God. 

We bless God for physical blessings but we never thank him for spiritual blessings! 

Because I am already seated in heavenly places, my mind should be set on heavenly blessings 

Sealed in the Greek is: Sphragis. Seals are ensurers that the produce of something is impeccable. 

Seals leave a distinctive mark, the seal guarantees that package will make it to its final destination.

The Bible says that you are sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit. 

Meaning there is nothing defective about you! 

Because I’m sealed with the Holy Ghost it is my guarantee that I shall make it to my final destination.

In spite of everything, God inspected you and then he endorsed you! Because he endorsed you, he recognizes you! 

I am what I am today because God already knew I was a mess yet he endorsed me anyway!!!

I have this treasure in this earthen vessel because I am approved by God! 

He chose me to stamp! 

There is a difference between what is on you versus what is on you. 

The approval is on the inside. So don’t judge my outside because something might show that’s not on the inside. But as God works on me, the fruit of the inside starts to show on the outside. 

Stop acting as if you are not special. God has already sealed you at the time of salvation indicating that you are important. 

It makes me special that God would approve something that is broken and he sealed it anyway!!!

When the demons see the seal of God on your life they won’t even mess with the package. 

Are we blocking or grieving the Holy Spirit that the demons can’t see the seal of God? 

God has given you a guarantee to ensure you that you are going to make it. That means you should not complain that you’re not gonna make it. If you sealed, you are gonna make it! 

The seal that I have, no one can revoke or reverse it!!

This seal is apart of the Holy Spirit.

The seal is a person, he signifies my security and my ownership. 

You don’t get to make the choices, the seal is the evidence of your purchase. You can’t seal something unless you own it. 

When he comes back, the mark will be upon us, and he will see what is already sealed. 

As Paul, a solid foundation of a relationship with God is the seal. 2 Timothy 2:19

You cannot sin and think your seal is good to God. Sin separates you from God. 

In the church of Ephesus, they were doing all the right things but God had an Alt with him. Because they abandoned God, they abandoned their first love (Revelations 2). 

He had to threaten to remove their lamp stand. Though sealed, they were living in sin. 

We have to repent.
