THE POWER OF PEACE / DOUBLE SHALOM
Sunday Service: Pastor Danette Ray “The Power of the Holy Spirit Series: The Power of Peace - Double Shalom Part 2”
Base Scripture: Isaiah 26:3
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to deal with us, where we are at.
People have no conviction so we do not see the evidence of the Holy Spirit.
There is no weakness in the power of the Holy Spirit
It is us who resist the working of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Who will God keep in perfect peace:
Unwavering (Steadfast) and committed (Loyal).
Focus is the center of my interest and activities.
We have to be focused because it reduces distractions.
We have to learn to be guarded by peace. Peace is a person! He will guard you if you are unwavering, loyal, and focused on me.
Inclination: Your natural tendencies and character has to also be unwavering, loyal, and focused.
When we mediate on the word day and night, we are less likely to sin against God.
I have assurance that God is gonna keep me in perfect peace.
Shalom is more than quietness, harmony and tranquility.
Shalom comes from Shalem: Whole or complete as in a debt paid in full. Blessed that I am completely healed that I owe nothing.
Jesus is shalom and shalem.
I have come to give you double shalom. Jesus have come to give me perfect peace.
Perfect: having all the required or desired elements, complete/superb.
Peace pervades and stimulates every other grace.
Whereever God places you in his house, his grace will guide you so that you can be effective in that area.
What is the grace? Grace is not only unmerited favor, but it also the supernatural assistance of God.
We can’t be unified without grace!
Ephesians 3:4; Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14
We can’t pursue peace with all people and holiness without one another. Without one or the other, no one will see the Lord.
Peace is a powerful defense.
It resists successfully the attacks of evil when they come.
We are not using our defenses because we are not walking in the spirit. Galatians 5:16
Peace is the surest safe guard against every form of sin.
Peace is an accurate instinct inside of us!
Whatever you do, you want peace to be in the center of the decision.
Peace isn’t only a defense or instinct, it is a regulating power. Peace is potent at helping you live in Godly morality (Philippians 4:7; Colossians 2:3)
Peace is a divine blessing (Ephesians 6:23)
Peace and love without faith is worthless.
Love is the strength for us to forebear what is in us so that we can maintain peace.
Don’t self suppress your destiny, suppress yourself. Comfort is a coffin. Everything that grace was supposed to stimulate, will be in this coffin.
If peace be with me, I have to live out my destiny. I can’t live in comfort.
We don’t wanna live in discomfort! Which is why we get stuck.
Peace voluntarily gave himself to discomfort. Comfort is not peace!
